Hi dancers! Unique Ballet Model Kiera here! Last month, I received my first model package in the mail. It was as if Christmas came early! I was incredibly excited to wear and photograph Unique Ballet’s stunning pieces and am even more excited to share with you a new costume I’ve collaborated with Unique Ballet owner, Wendy to design! I’m honoured to get to introduce the first costume of the “Kiera Collection”, Kitri! This piece was imagined by me on paper and created by the talented Unique Ballet Team. It’s always such an honour to collaborate with amazing brands and seeing how they interpret and add their unique touch to a simple idea.
I’ve always found Don Quixote a very exciting and outgoing ballet and wanted to interpret this into the design of the Kitri costume through the use of bold red in the skirt and beautiful gold accent detail. The bright colour really makes a statement and stands out in photos and on stage as well as goes perfectly with the black top, keeping the classic Spanish colour scheme. The gold detail and lace sleeves add an elegant feminine touch to the outfit. For those of you who are familiar with the Kitri Variations, you’ll understand the necessity of a full and flowy skirt. To accomplish this, the costume features a three layered tulle skirt which gives a stunning volume and swish while you dance.
